The first phase of the ceasefire agreement expired as the Palestinian people in Gaza observed the first day of Ramadan on Saturday, March 1. In the immediate hours after, Netanyahu pledged to halt all aid entering Gaza, signaling an escalation of the zionist entity’s barbaric use of starvation to try and force the Palestinian people to accept a U.S. proposed agreement. IOF tanks have opened intense fire in several sites across the southern Gaza Strip over the last few hours.
The zionist entity has no intent of continuing negotiations. After failing at every genocidal objective its generals claimed they would achieve, their weakness has been exposed by the courageous Palestinian resistance. With the abandonment of the previous agreement, the zionist state and its imperialist backers are seeking the capitulation of the Palestinian people through the acceptance of an agreement orchestrated by the same supplier of the weapons used to massacre Palestinian children and families.
While Donald Trump was eager to claim credit for the ceasefire when it began, both his current and previous administration hold a clear commitment to advancing zionist aspirations in ethnically cleansing all of historic Palestine of its indigenous inhabitants. Just yesterday, on the same day the first phase of the ceasefire expired, the Trump administration formally advanced over $3 billion in weapons to the zionist entity, after a separate $8 billion weapons transfer only a few weeks ago.
We must take this as a wakeup call. The zionist entity is built and sustained only by the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people. It is incapable of engaging in good-faith diplomacy or respecting international law, and it will not cease so long as it has the unconditional financial and diplomatic support of the US empire. Similarly, the interests of the US empire, no matter who may head it, will not change until we force its hand. Our duty here in the U.S. is to end US aid to Israel once and for all.
