The Jacksonville Palestine Solidarity Network strongly condemns the 2024 election of Donald Trump to the presidency. We know, however, that either outcome was going to be a loss for the people–the working class people. We know that we cannot rely on the capitalist empire to represent the needs of our communities. We know that both the Republican party and the Democratic party are in the pockets of the big corporations and that they do not have our best interest in mind.
The passing of the torch from one war criminal to another, and the election of a racist reactionary like Trump, is an indictment of a system that prioritizes imperial interest over the interests of working class people.
Palestinians still face terror every day. Palestinians are still placing their loved ones in body bags every day. Hospitals are still being bombed, besieged, and medical staff executed. Palestinians in the diaspora grieve their family, their people, and the decimation of their land. We must draw from the steadfastness of the people of Gaza.
Alongside the courageous leadership of the Palestinian people, we unite with working people across the globe to bring an end to the U.S-sponsored genocide.
We unite against the man who said he would “finish the job” in Gaza, who is calling for a mass deportation campaign, who threatens the lives of our Black and Brown communities, who strips away Women’s and Trans healthcare protections, who promises to uphold and enshrine the systems that oppress us. Despite these manifestations of imperialism and racism threatening the safety of our communities, we will resist. From Jacksonville to Palestine, we stay steadfast in our commitment to the liberation of the Palestinian people. We know that our struggles are connected and we must build together towards a better future where we can thrive and not just survive.
There is no doubt that a second Trump presidency carries with it immense threats to oppressed peoples within and outside of the U.S. Do not despair, organize. Now is the time to build the fight against Trump’s reactionary agenda. Join us in the streets as we say,
- Free Palestine! End US aid to Israel!
- Community control of the police now! End racist policing!
- Stop the attacks on reproductive freedom and the stop attacks on the LGBT community!
